Selkokulttuuri ry partners with Hyvinkään kaupunginkirjasto to tell local stories in selkosuomeksi. The project starts with an open call. All residents of Hyvinkää are welcome to share their stories, amusing, important, bittersweet episodes that have happened in Hyvinkää. The collected stories will be presented as a series of storytelling events in selkosuomeksi in summer 2021 (online or live, subject to the Corona regulations).
Read on to see the open call details and feel free to forward to your family and friends living in Hyvinkää.
Open call by Hyvinkää Storytelling Project “Hyvän mielen tarinoita Hyvinkäältä”
The “Hyvän mielen tarinoita Hyvinkäältä” project would like to collect and share local stories, re-telling them in selkosuomea.
Send us the short stories about anything that has happened to you, your family, friends, or your pets in Hyvinkää. We will re-tell your stories in selkosuomeksi to share with everyone in the community regardless of their level of Finnish language. The stories will be performed in summer 2021 (online or live, subject to the Corona regulations).
The stories can be submitted in any form by anyone living in Hyvinkää.
E-mail a written text or send an audio recording to Lisa Bomash, Selkokulttuuri ry producer, at firstname.lastname@example.org .
You can also e-mail any questions or suggestions in relation to this project to Lisa.
We understand Finnish, English, and Russian, at any level. We also welcome submissions in other languages, it just might take us a bit longer to arrange a translation.
The project is a cooperation between Selkokulttuuri ry and Hyvinkään kaupunginkirjasto.
